Jeff Davis celebrated Senior Night with a convincing victory Monday, shutting out Wilcox County 12-0 behind a strong offensive performance and another solid outing in the circle from Briley Reagin.
The Jackets collected 11 hits in the win, led by Gabby Taylor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in two runs. After a scoreless first inning, Jeff Davis broke through in the bottom of the second. Skyden Chaney delivered an RBI single up the middle, and Reagin brought home another run on a groundout to give the Jackets a 2-0 advantage.
The Jeff Davis offense then erupted for seven runs in the third inning. Savanna Robinette started the scoring with an RBI single before Taylor drove home two with a single of her own. Senior Ava Bohannon followed with a two-run single, Anna Grace Alligood added an RBI single, and Robinette later drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home another run.
Jeff Davis continued adding to its lead on the way to the 12-0 victory. Taylor finished with three singles in three trips to the plate. Alligood went 2-for-3, while Bohannon drove in a team-high three runs. Reagin took care of the rest in the circle, allowing just two hits over four scoreless innings. She struck out three, walked one and earned the win.
It was also a special night for Jeff Davis seniors Ava Bohannon and Madison Joyce, who were recognized before the game as part of Senior Night festivities.
The Jackets now turn around quickly and head back on the road today to face Fitzgerald.
