Jeff Davis High School Softball bounced back in a big way Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader at Brooks County with a pair of shutout victories. The Yellow Jackets rolled to an 18-0 win in the first game before following it with a 13-0 victory in game two, combining for 31 runs, 28 hits and no errors across the doubleheader. Briley Reagin earned the win in the circle in both games, allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings while striking out 12 and issuing no walks.

Game One: Jeff Davis 18, Brooks County 0

Jeff Davis wasted little time taking control of the opener, scoring five runs in the first inning. Savanna Robinette opened the scoring with a two-run single, Mikelynn Jones followed with a two-run double and Skyden Chaney brought home another run on a groundout.

The Jackets added another run in the second before exploding for 12 runs in the third inning. The big inning featured RBI hits from Madison Joyce, Jones, Chaney, Abby Williams and Gabby Taylor, with Joyce and Taylor each delivering doubles.

Jeff Davis finished with 13 hits. Robinette went a perfect 3-for-3, while Jones finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Williams and Joyce also recorded multiple hits, and Ava Bohannon stole two bases.

Reagin was dominant in the circle, throwing three perfect innings without allowing a hit or a walk while striking out seven. The Jackets were also flawless defensively, committing no errors.

Game Two: Jeff Davis 13, Brooks County 0

The Jeff Davis bats stayed hot in the second game, producing another double-digit run total and 15 hits. Bohannon helped get things started with a home run to left field in the first inning as the Jackets jumped out to an early lead. Robinette and Joyce added RBI singles, Taylor drew a bases-loaded walk, and Reagin doubled down the left-field line as Jeff Davis continued to pile on the runs.

Taylor led the offensive charge, driving in four runs on two hits. She delivered a two-run single in the second and another two-run single in the third. Joyce went a perfect 3-for-3, while Williams, Reagin, Alligood and Robinette each collected multiple hits.

Reagin turned in another strong performance in the circle, allowing just one hit over four scoreless innings, striking out five and again issuing no walks. For the second straight game, Jeff Davis played error-free defense.

The doubleheader sweep came one day after the Jackets were held to one hit in a 9-0 loss at Wayne County. Less than 24 hours later, Jeff Davis responded with 31 runs and 28 hits while allowing Brooks County just one hit over seven innings.

The Jackets return home Thursday to face Cook.
