Jeff Davis Elementary School has more Georgia Milestones results to celebrate, with both third- and fourth-grade students posting strong statewide performances in mathematics during the 2025-26 school year. Fourth-grade students performed in the Top 30% statewide in Math, while third-grade students ranked in the Top 34% statewide. The results are another reason to celebrate the work taking place inside Jeff Davis County classrooms and reflect the combined efforts of students, teachers, administrators and families.

Jeff Davis Elementary’s fourth-grade students turned in the school’s strongest showing, finishing among the Top 30% in Georgia on the Math portion of the Georgia Milestones. Fourth-grade mathematics builds on increasingly complex skills, including multi-digit multiplication and division, fractions and decimals, measurement, problem solving and geometry. Performing among the top 30% statewide represents a strong accomplishment for JDES students and the educators who have worked throughout the year to help them master those skills.

Third-grade students also had plenty to celebrate, performing in the Top 34% statewide in Math. Third-grade mathematics includes foundational concepts that students will continue building upon throughout their education, including multiplication and division, place value, fractions, measurement, data and geometry. The results reflect continued progress at Jeff Davis Elementary and the hard work taking place from both students and teachers.

Georgia Milestones assessments are designed to measure how well students have mastered Georgia’s academic standards. Student performance is reported across four levels: Beginning Learner, Developing Learner, Proficient Learner and Distinguished Learner. While test scores represent only one measure of student achievement, strong statewide performance provides another opportunity to recognize the work happening throughout Jeff Davis County Schools.

Congratulations to the third- and fourth-grade Yellow Jackets and their teachers on two strong Math performances — Top 34% and Top 30% in Georgia!

Congratulations to the students and teachers at JDES!
