Jeff Davis collected more hits than Coffee on Thursday, but the Jackets were unable to push a run across the plate in a 4-0 road loss in the last game of the regular season. Despite out-hitting Coffee 6-5, Jeff Davis struggled to turn those opportunities into runs. Ava Bohannon and Savanna Robinette led the Jackets offensively, collecting two hits apiece.

Coffee took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning when Pridgen drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the game’s first run. The Trojans added two more runs in the second on a single by Douglas, extending their advantage to 3-0. Another bases-loaded walk in the third brought home Coffee’s fourth and final run.

Anna Grace Alligood started in the circle for Jeff Davis, working 1⅔ innings and allowing three runs, only one earned, on four hits. Briley Reagin turned in a strong relief performance, holding Coffee hitless and scoreless over four innings. Reagin struck out three and walked just one, keeping the Jackets within striking distance.

At the plate, Bohannon and Robinette accounted for four of Jeff Davis’ six hits.

Coffee starter Brown pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing six hits while striking out three and issuing no walks. The Trojans also played error-free defense.

Although the Jackets were unable to get on the scoreboard, Reagin’s relief outing and the team’s six-hit performance were bright spots in the loss.
