The Jackets piled up 311 yards of total offense, including 272 rushing yards, while limiting Bacon County to just 108 total yards. Jeff Davis also intercepted two passes and recorded a safety in the win.
The defense made its presence known early. Bacon County’s opening possession ended in a safety with 10:07 remaining in the first quarter, giving the Jackets a quick 2-0 advantage.
Jeff Davis capitalized on its next possession when quarterback Mark Durden connected with Jacob Laney on a 20-yard touchdown pass, extending the lead to 9-0. The Jackets continued building their advantage in the second quarter. Kobe Hill capped a 67-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run, pushing the score to 16-0.
Later in the quarter, Durden found Braylon Varnadore for a 20-yard touchdown pass, completing an 11-play, 70-yard drive that sent Jeff Davis into halftime with a commanding 23-0 lead.
The Jackets picked up where they left off in the second half. On their opening possession of the third quarter, Jeff Davis marched 53 yards before Durden crossed the goal line on a one-yard run, extending the advantage to 30-0.
Jeff Davis added one final touchdown in the fourth quarter when Cam Vann broke loose for a 23-yard scoring run, bringing the final score to 37-0.
Durden led the Jackets on the ground with 101 yards on 16 carries and one touchdown. He also completed two of three passes for 40 yards, with both completions going for touchdowns.
Hill added 68 rushing yards on six carries, averaging more than 11 yards per attempt, while Laney contributed 31 rushing yards and a touchdown reception.
Garrison Coleman added 23 yards on seven carries, while Keylin Biggins contributed a 23-yard run. Vann finished with 23 yards and a touchdown on his lone carry.
Defensively, the Jackets kept Bacon County from finding any offensive rhythm. The Raiders managed just 80 rushing yards and 28 passing yards, completing four of 10 pass attempts.
Josh Worthington and Jaiden King each recorded an interception, helping Jeff Davis preserve the shutout.
The Jackets finished with 20 first downs compared to Bacon County’s 10, controlled the ground game and scored five touchdowns in the victory.
The win improves Jeff Davis to 6-0 on the season, continuing an impressive undefeated start and giving the Jackets another reason to celebrate on Homecoming night.
With a packed Pinelands crowd cheering them on, the Jackets delivered a performance worthy of the occasion — a shutout on defense, a balanced scoring effort and another victory added to their unbeaten season.
