Jeff Davis Middle School Softball used a strong offensive performance and solid defense to pick up a 10-3 victory over Swainsboro Middle School on Thursday. After Swainsboro took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Jackets answered immediately. Harper Cravey singled home two runs in the bottom half of the inning to put JDMS ahead 2-1.

Swainsboro tied the game at 2-2 in the second, but Jeff Davis quickly took control. Paxtan Felix delivered an RBI single before River Bruce tripled home two runs. Another run scored on an error as the Jackets built their lead. Sadie Williams helped lead the JDMS offense with a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three singles. Bruce finished 2-for-3 with a team-high three RBIs, while Cravey also collected two hits. The Jackets finished the game with 12 hits.

In the circle, Jaiden Folsom went the distance for Jeff Davis, allowing three runs on five hits over seven innings while striking out five and walking four. JDMS also turned in a strong defensive performance, committing no errors and turning a double play. Zoe Mercer led the defense with 12 fielding chances. Swainsboro added its final run on a solo home run in the fifth, but the Jackets maintained control to finish off the 10-3 victory.
